About the role
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated and committed individual to join our development management team, responsible for co‑ordinating and responding to development management matters for the Service. You should have knowledge and experience of legislative and technical aspects in this area of work (e.g. Roads Construction Consent), including the assessment of soils, drainage, and the materials used in the process. The role will involve the supervision and monitoring of construction works on a number of new development sites and you should be familiar with health and safety matters on site including a knowledge of traffic management systems. You should have good customer care skills and be confident in dealing with site‑related issues.
The role will involve working on your own and you should have experience in record keeping. You will be able to work as part of a team and be able to assist colleagues to assess planning applications when required. You should be able to work under pressure to specific deadlines and directions, whilst working as part of a wider specialist team.
Requirements
* Knowledge and experience of legislative and technical aspects of development management (e.g. Roads Construction Consent), assessment of soils, drainage and construction materials.
* Experience supervising and monitoring construction works on new development sites.
* Familiarity with health and safety matters on site and knowledge of traffic management systems.
* Good customer care skills and confidence in dealing with site‑related issues.
* Experience in record keeping.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Capability to work under pressure to specific deadlines and directions.
* Current driver’s licence and willingness to travel throughout the Council area.
Preferred Qualifications
NC in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) or significant other experience in lieu of this.
