About The Role
Harrogate College is seeking a Lead Skills Teacher with specialist expertise to join our Electrical team. In this role, you will teach full‑time learners within our fully equipped Electrical department and will provide an excellent learning experience to ensure individual learners gain the appropriate skills in readiness for further study, employment, or apprenticeship.
Required
As an experienced Electrician, you will be required to teach learners across all modes of attendance and all levels of Electrical Installation. You will teach the following programmes:
* 16‑18‑year‑old Study Programmes
* 19+ learners who are on Study programmes

What You Will Do
* Provide current, specialist subject expertise in a skills‑shortage area for teaching delivery.
* Maintain links with the sector and help ensure the curriculum reflects the latest industrial or professional practice.
* Ensure the curriculum delivery team is aware of the latest developments within the sector and has recent CPD and industrial updating.
* Prepare and teach on a range of topics, using industry knowledge to upskill our future workforce.
* Contribute to aspirational teaching, learning and assessment.
* Keep accurate records for learners’ progress in College.
About You
* Hold or be willing to work towards an L5 Teaching Qualification (e.g. Cert Ed, PGCE).
* Hold a relevant vocational/technical qualification or degree in the teaching subject.
* Have relevant recent experience in the subject sector and clear expertise.
* Have relevant up‑to‑date subject knowledge.
* Have an understanding of the Further Education or school sector.
