Lead Clinical Director (Small Animal) – Scottish Borders
Are you an experienced vet ready to take the next step into leadership? This is an exciting opportunity to guide a talented, multi-disciplinary team across two respected RCVS-accredited practices in the heart of the Scottish Borders — where clinical excellence meets countryside living.
The Role
* Position: Lead Clinical Director (Small Animal focus)
* Hours: 40 hours per week, 4 or 5 days
* Rota: 1 in 5 weekends OOH (time off in lieu)
* Salary: Up to £85,000 DOE
* Type: Permanent, Full-time
As Lead Clinical Director, you’ll provide strategic and clinical leadership across two well-established sites. Your role will include:
* Overseeing clinical standards and patient care within the Small Animal department
* Supporting and mentoring senior leadership teams (Clinical Nursing Managers, Practice Managers, Lead Vets)
* Collaborating on business development and client engagement to continue the practices’ growth
* Leading by example in clinical work, ensuring high standards and team support
About You
You’re an experienced Veterinary Surgeon with a passion for leadership and collaboration. You combine clinical confidence with the ability to motivate and guide your colleagues, fostering a positive culture and maintaining excellent client care.
* RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon
* Proven leadership or management experience
* Excellent communicator with strong team-building skills
* Confident in Small Animal clinical work
