Smart Education is recruiting Teaching Assistants to work within a specialist all-through setting supporting pupils with a wide range of additional and complex needs. Pupils in this environment require personalised learning support and strategies that help them access education, grow in confidence, and build independence across all key stages.
The setting caters to learners with special educational needs including severe, moderate and specific learning difficulties, speech, language and communication needs, autism spectrum conditions, and associated sensory or behaviour needs. This role is ideal for Teaching Assistants who are confident working with complex needs, committed to inclusion, and skilled at supporting learners to engage, regulate, and progress.

Job Requirements:
• Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (essential)
• Experience supporting pupils with SEN and complex needs in a school setting
• Confidence managing challenging behaviour and supporting emotional regulation
• Calm, patient, and adaptable approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Enhanced Child & Adult Workforce DBS (or willingness to obtain)
• Valid passport
• Ability to provide 24 months of employer or academic references
Role Responsibilities:
• Provide in-class, small-group and 1:1 support for pupils with complex needs
• Assist with implementing individual learning and behaviour support plans
• Support pupils’ social, emotional and communication development
• Encourage independence, engagement and positive learning behaviours
• Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff
• Help maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
