A Trainee Events Coordinator role involves planning and delivering public events such as Christmas Light Switch-Ons, St Patricks Day celebrations, and local festivals. No previous events experience required; full training and support will be provided.
Responsibilities
* Assist in planning and organising a variety of community events and festivals.
* Support the coordination of event logistics, including equipment, scheduling, suppliers, and on-site crew.
* Help with event set-up, on-site operations during events, and post-event pack-down.
* Communicate with performers, suppliers, partners, and community organisations under team guidance.
* Assist with booking talent and preparing stage and activity schedules.
* Track and manage event equipment, props, and materials to ensure they are organised and available.
* Maintain accurate event documentation, records, and administrative files.
* Follow health, safety, and event-management procedures to support safe event delivery.
* Work closely with the events management team, contributing ideas and supporting team tasks as needed.
Skills and Qualifications
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and keep track of details.
* Good communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with performers, suppliers, and the public.
* Teamwork and collaboration, with a positive attitude toward supporting colleagues and working in a busy event environment.
* Problem‑solving skills and the ability to stay calm and practical when challenges arise during events.
* Time‑management skills to help meet deadlines and support smooth event delivery.
* Basic administrative skills, including maintaining records and handling simple documentation.
* Willingness to learn, take direction, and develop new skills in events coordination.
* Time‑keeping skills, especially during event set‑up and on‑site operations.
* Customer‑service mindset, friendly and approachable when engaging with the public or event participants.
* Basic IT skills, including using email, calendars, and simple office software.
* Physical ability to assist with hands‑on tasks such as moving equipment during set‑up and pack‑down.
