Job summary
To provide specialist mental health intervention within Core CAMHS, including assessment, care planning, treatment, and case management of children/young people with moderate to severe mental health concerns.
To provide consultation, supervision, and support to other clinical team members involved in care and treatment.
Our current MDT includes SALT, social workers, CBT-trained therapists, EMDR-trained therapists, psychologists, medics, NMPs, offering a wide range of expertise and support to ensure high-quality treatment for service users.
To work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise responsibility for governance of practice within the specialism.
Main duties of the job

* Plan and implement formal mental health treatment and management for children/young people, based on their specific problems, using evidence-based methods.
* Provide specialist assessments using complex data from various sources, including self-report measures, rating scales, observations, and interviews with clients, families, and others involved.
* Implement appropriate psychological interventions for individuals, carers, families, and groups, adjusting formulations as needed.
* Evaluate treatment options considering theoretical and therapeutic models, and complex factors like trauma and developmental history.
* Make sensitive clinical judgments involving complex information, supporting team members in decision-making and risk assessment.
* Manage a complex caseload using advanced clinical skills.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Professional degree in psychological therapy, RMN, RLDN, OT, or Social Work
* Registration with an appropriate governing body (e.g., BACP, BABCP, HCPC)
Desirable
* Evidence of ongoing professional development
* Post-qualification experience in community settings
Experience
* Knowledge of mental illnesses in children and young people, aligned with NICE guidance and evidence-based practice
* Ability to communicate complex, sensitive information effectively
* Experience working in multidisciplinary teams and leading professional or care-coordinator roles
Desirable
* CAMHS community experience
* Good self and time management skills
Additional requirements
