About Our Client
A great opportunity for a Product Development Manager - Home Textiles to join a market-leading textile business in the Greater Manchester office. They design and produce textiles for the bedroom, living room, etc. They have a strong reputation in the industry with many long-serving employees. Sustainability is a key focus, and they are members of Better Cotton.
Job Description
* Conduct market analysis and maintain an understanding of market trends
* Provide feedback on strategies to factories (seasonal, promotional)
* Collaborate with factories and design teams on new product ideas
* Organize factory calls and tours
* Gather all cost information (prices, MOQs, lead-times)
* Work with factories and the Category Assistant on product development
* Perform cross costing
* Assist with factory issues and problem-solving
The Successful Applicant
* Strong understanding of the marketplace and competitors; further training on competitors is desirable
* Ability to create PowerPoint presentations
* Build and maintain relationships with factories
* Good understanding of pricing and costings
* Knowledge of technical aspects of product development, working with QA and gaining more technical expertise
* Proficiency in spreadsheets, including formulas and VLOOKUPs
* Ability to work independently and within a team
* Excellent communication skills to share vital information effectively
* Experience in factory issue resolution and problem-solving
