A therapeutic, nurturing secondary school in Southampton is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their team. This specialised setting provides a holistic and therapeutic approach to education, supporting pupils who may struggle to thrive in mainstream environments.
What We’re Looking For
You must have previous experience working with children or young people with additional needs. We welcome applicants from a range of backgrounds, including:
* Care
* Hospital or clinical support
* Youth work
* Alternative provision or SEND settings
* SEMH/SEND school experience
Role Responsibilities
* Support pupils with SEMH needs in both 1:1 and small-group settings
* Implement therapeutic and trauma-informed approaches
* Collaborate with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and external agencies
* Build positive, trusting and consistent relationships with pupils
* Help create a safe, emotionally supportive learning environment

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
