Job Title: TIG Welder / Metal Fabricator Location: Basildon
Salary: £16£17 per hour (£33,280-£35,360 per annum)
Requirement: Must be a car driver due to the location
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am 4:30pm
About the Role We are seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Fabricator/Welder to join our team in Basildon. Reporting directly to the General Manager, youll be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and repairing a variety of stainless steel products including sinks, benches, cupboards, workstations, and more.
This is a hands-on role requiring precision, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Youll be working both in our fabrication workshop and occasionally on-site for installations and surveys.
Key Responsibilities Operate hand and machine tools including guillotine, brake press, and CNC machinery
Perform TIG and MIG welding to assemble metal components
Read and interpret factory drawings and specifications
Measure, mark, cut, bend, and shape sheet metal to required dimensions
Drill and punch holes for fasteners and ensure accurate part alignment
Finish fabricated items using grinders and polishers
Conduct site visits for measurements, surveys, and installations
Maintain awareness of production timelines and safety standards
What Were Looking For Proven experience in TIG welding and sheet metal fabrication
Ability to read technical drawings and work independently
Strong understanding of health & safety practices, including PPE usage
Flexibility to work outside normal hours when required
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential)
Additional Information Occasional travel for site surveys and installations
