Generative artificial intelligence (AI) describes algorithms that can be used to produce new content, including audio, code, images, text, simulations, and videos. It is developing all the time and is now being used as a support mechanism for all kinds of content-based creations. The Quality and Patient Safety Advisor provides support to the QPS Team in all aspects of quality and patient safety within Women’ services working alongside the band 7’s. The post holder will assist with ensuring there are systems and processes in place to support a systematic approach to reporting, assessment, investigation, analysis, evaluation and management of clinical and non-clinical risk. This includes a daily review of Datix reports, allocating handlers and supporting the team in managing adverse incidents when they occur.
The post holder will work alongside the band 7 patient safety leads responsible for reporting stillbirths and maternal deaths on to MBRRACE and reporting to MNSI (Maternity and Newborn Safety Investigation Programme) and NHS Resolution. This requires the ability to liaise with senior clinicians both within and external to the Trust and to offer support to staff undergoing investigations by MNSI. In addition to this there will be a requirement to liaise with families offering support sometimes at a very distressing time. The post holder will assist with the preparation for and the running of perinatal mortality meetings including the completion of the Perinatal Mortality Review Tool (PMRT) which is one of the standards for clinical negligence schemefor trusts (CNST).
