Belcan is recruiting an experienced Site Safety Supervisor for an initial 2 month contract Inside IR35, to support a control system replacement project based at Wooler, Northumberland. You'll lead on‑site safety, ensure compliance with UK HSE and CDM regulations, and maintain a strong safety culture.
Key Duties
Deliver daily safety leadership, briefings, and toolbox talks.
Conduct inspections, audits, and behavioural observations.
Ensure compliance with RAMS, PTW, CDM, and high‑risk activity controls.
Lead incident response, investigations, and reporting.
Maintain accurate site safety and PTW documentation.
Essential Requirements
NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent).
Proven site safety experience in construction/industrial/engineering environments.
CSCS card.
Contractor supervision experience.
First Aid at Work.
Strong knowledge of UK HSE legislation -
CDM 2015, Health and Safety at Work Act 1974
COSHH, LOLER, PUWER
Working at Height Regulations
Desirable
SSSTS/SMSTS
Temporary Works awareness
Fire Marshal training
Experience in COMAH, utilities, energy, or CNI environments
