To independently manage a specialist caseload within the Buckinghamshire Wheelchair service working with severely disabled adults and children who have complex health, social, mobility and postural needs. This involves formulating individualised action plans based on assessment findings and clinical reasoning, with the provision of appropriate specialised equipment.
To work as a proactive team member to ensure the overall smooth running of the service.
To support the clinical support worker and co-ordinate with other members of the team.

Education
Essential criteria
1. Degree/Diploma in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy
2. Moving and handling training
3. Fieldwork education training
Experience
Essential criteria
4. Post qualification experience in the physical field e.g. community, rehabilitation or equivalent experience
5. Knowledge of clients wheelchair needs and capabilities regarding existing and proposed wheelchairs
Desirable criteria
6. To have participated in student training
Skills, Abilities
Essential criteria
7. Ability to form relationships with clients who may need motivating and encouraging while respecting their views, autonomy and culture
8. Able to supervise students
Desirable criteria
9. Knowledge of legal processes and policies, confidentiality, child protection and H&S
10. Knowledge and experience of manual handling techniques and equipment

11. Able to travel to other sites and off site as necessary
