Xstrahl is a leading designer and manufacturer of Superficial Orthovoltage Medical X-ray Systems used in the treatment of cancers and dermatological disorders, as well as a pioneer in the development of advanced X-ray systems for pre-clinical radiation biology research.
Purpose of the Role
Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Team Leader role emphasizes the assembly, testing, and quality assurance of complex medical devices. This position offers hands-on experience with advanced technologies in production processes. Additionally, the Team Leader is responsible for managing the shop floor and overseeing the development and training of production engineers.
Key Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
* To work within the procedures as laid down in the companies Quality Management System
* Compliance with the companies EHS policy throughout production at all times
* Collaborate with the Production Manager on allocation of Pick Lists and Production Orders through the SAP MRP system
* Planning production workflow, in line with customer requirements as laid down by the Production Manager, ensuring that shipping deadlines are achieved.
* Providing first line supervision to the Production Team
* General electrical and mechanical production activities
* System testing and Commissioning
* Identifying and resolving potential and actual problems in the production process or area
* Overseeing induction and training of new team members, reporting progress to the Production Manager
* Working with colleagues to resolve production problems and potential non-conformances, escalating issues as required ensuring preventative actions are taken
* Attending production planning meetings and disseminating information accordingly
* Supervising the performance of the production team, reviewing team member performance and providing an input into the appraisal process
* Monitoring Health & Safety in the production area, reporting issues to the Operations Director/Production Manager
* Driving and championing the continuous improvement process
* Contribution to the Corrective & Preventative Actions and Change Requests, in accordance with the requirement of the Quality Management System
* Assisting with the preparation and maintenance of build manuals and assembly instructions
* Joint provision of cover across the Production Management team
* Any other reasonable task required by the company
Person Specification
* Ability to create and maintain good working relationships with peers and subordinates
* Good IT skills including knowledge of Excel spreadsheets and Microsoft Applications
* Ability to work on own initiative and also as a team player
* Strong emphasis on accuracy and detail
* Good time management and organizational skills
* A minimum of five years electrical/mechanical manufacturing experience, with excellent crimping and soldering skills
* Experience of heading a team, in a Team Leader role or similar.
