We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Paediatric Occupational Therapist to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will work with patients to help them develop, recover, and improve the skills needed for daily living and working. This role involves assessing patients' needs, creating tailored treatment plans, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Main duties of the job
Responsibilities
* To provide Occupational Therapy intervention to children (aged 0 to 19 years), with a variety of conditions.
* To work across the geographical areas within the borough.
* Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical, emotional, and social needs.
* Develop individualised treatment plans aimed at improving patients' functional abilities.
* Monitor and document patient progress and modify treatment plans as necessary.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physiotherapists, speech therapists, and medical staff, to provide holistic care.
* Educate patients and their families on treatment goals and techniques for home practice.
* Maintain accurate records of patient care activities in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
* Stay updated on the latest research and advancements in occupational therapy practices.

Shift Pattern: Days Mon-Fri 8.00-17.00
Skills
* Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology to understand patient conditions effectively.
* Experience or knowledge in paediatrics is advantageous for working with younger patients.
* Proficiency in patient care techniques that promote recovery and rehabilitation.
* Familiarity with medical imaging techniques to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning.
* Ability to manage cases effectively within critical care settings such as ICU or hospitals.
* Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare colleagues.
* Critical thinking skills to assess situations quickly and make informed decisions regarding patient care.
* A compassionate approach towards patient interactions, ensuring a supportive environment for recovery.
Youll need to have the following qualification/experience:
* A minimum of 6 months paid experience in a similar role as band 6 Occupational Therapist within the last 3 years
* HCPC registration
* Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy
*Depending on the Trust, you may require variable additional certification and skills.
