New Skill Centre – Ipswich, Suffolk IP3 9QR £38,500 - £43,000 per annum 37.5 hours per week, 8.30am – 4.30pm Full Time (part time considered) Permanent Reference: 7319 Required to start as soon as possible Your role We are seeking a Teacher of History and Humanities who can deliver Entry Level and GCSE History, or other Humanities based subjects such as Geography to pre and post 16 students with SEND. You need to currently possess Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). We welcome applications from newly qualified teachers. You must have a passion for wanting to help transform the lives of young people and be part of a growing, vibrant, successful and experienced staff team. Main purpose The New Skill Centre is a Special Independent SEND School catering for the needs of young people aged 11 to 19 years old, who are academically capable of achieving GCSE’S and other level 1 and 2 qualifications. All our students are gentle by nature and have an EHCP with identified SEND needs. Class sizes typically consist of 4-6 students with experienced HLTA’s in support. The Humanities teacher will have experience or willingness to develop knowledge of SEND and the ability to adapt teaching practice to meet individual needs of all students.
