Salary: £64,770.15 - £86,360.19 Closing Date: Monday 15th June 2026 Job Purpose: Provide a single point of accountability to manage the Transition of new (or modified) Air Traffic Management (ATM) Systems and Services into Service Delivery (SD) for Projects and other non-project change activities assigned to the Post Holder Provide an Intelligent Customer function ensuring the Transition Solution delivered by Projects supports Service Delivery (SD), the ATC (Air Traffic Control) stakeholders (ATC & Military) and the wider NATS business Manage Transition Risks on behalf of Service Delivery (SD), ATC and Military stakeholders during each Transition phase As part of the Intelligent Customer function advise and Support Unit and Project Acceptance activities on behalf of Service Delivery (SD) Accountabilities: The Post Holder shall be Accountable for the activities defined below for medium complexity Transitions and the post holder will support other members of the Change Delivery team in larger programmes and more complex Transitions: - Ensure that the Service Delivery (SD) Transition Requirements are included in the Transition Design, in the Project Scope and Validated prior to Transition of new (or upgraded) ATM Systems and Services Plan and Manage the Transition activities, including: - Plan Service Delivery (SD) Resources required to support each Transition activity Manage relevant Stakeholders (focus on ATC, Military, Service Delivery and Service Support) to achieve the required Transition with the minimal disruption Ensure that ATM Services (Systems) Safety and Service are not compromised during Transition Plan, manage and deliver the Transition and Service Delivery (SD) Support Work Packages (WPs) to quality, cost and time Ensure that Transition activities for all allocated Projects comply with the relevant NMS processes and Procedures (currently the Manage Deployment NMS processes and any relevant new process being developed in support of the new Service Management Based Organisation (SMBO) Autonomy: The post holder has the authority to define activities and deliverables of Transition and Service Delivery (SD) Support Work packages (WPs), within the bounds of existing NMS processes The post holder has the authority to approve Project expenditure within the budget allocated to each Work Package. WP expenditure over the budget allocated must be approved by the Project Manager The post holder is free to prioritise tasks within each WP, to ensure completion to the required quality, cost and timescale parameters On behalf of Service Delivery (SD), the post holder has the authority to define and agree Transition and Acceptance Requirements to be placed on projects Job Scope: The Post Holder: - Leads, directs and co-ordinates the work of multi-skilled teams (both internal and external to NATS) to achieve objectives within Transition WPs Oversees WP definition, approval and monthly reconciliation activities Leads the Transition activities as defined in the WP for the relevant projects Supports Unit, as the Intelligent Customer, and Project Acceptance activities as defined in the WP for the relevant projects Provides expert advice on the feasibility of Transition Solutions to meet the need of projects and stakeholders Co-ordinates and champions Transition Requirements gathering and Validation on behalf of Service Delivery (SD), the ATC and Military stakeholders Support Continuous Improvement activities within the Change Delivery team as directed by their line manager Represent Service Delivery (SD) in Project design reviews, Implementation, Transition and Acceptance activities ensuring System Requirements Specifications are adhered to Ensure on behalf of Service Delivery (SD) that all Project, System & Service deliverables are included in the WP - include Training Needs Analysis (TNA), Training, Safety, Procedures and Processes, Transition & Acceptance Experience, Qualification & Skills: The Job Holder is expected to have an HNC in Engineering or an Information Technology related discipline, (or an equivalent qualification), and relevant experience and have demonstrated ability to carry out technical work to this level Applicants not holding the expected qualification but who have undertaken structured Engineering or IT training and have demonstrable relevant experience will be considered Capability to contribute within a cross functional team within a Matrix Organisation Capability to engage and manage communications with technical experts within the Service Delivery (SD) organisation and the ATC and Military organisations Knowledge of and working experience in Project Environments within a Matrix Organisation Knowledge of ATC and Military Operations, Service Management (SM H24) Operations or proven experience in a similar field that demonstrates the capability for a fast learning curve Good knowledge of all relevant NATS technical processes and standards, and a wide understanding of NATS business objectives or proven experience in similar field that demonstrate the capability for a fast learning curve The Post Holder must be able highly motivated and able to communicate clearly both orally and in writing, understanding and reviewing reports written by others and writing documents forming part of the formal documentation of a change, minutes of a formal meeting or a formal report.
