Continuing part-time position (0.8 FTE) with a balanced roster including late afternoon/evening weekday shifts and one weekend day shift. Based at the Roseworthy Veterinary Hospital (RVH).
About RVH
The Roseworthy Veterinary Hospital (RVH) is the School’s clinical teaching facility, operating three commercial units, a small and a large animal hospital and a veterinary diagnostic laboratory. The RVH provides high quality first opinion, referral and 24/7 emergency and critical care veterinary services and serves as a clinical training environment for final year veterinary medicine and veterinary technology students.
Responsibilities
* Provide compassionate client engagement and reception support, including phone and email communication and appointment scheduling.
* Manage multiple phone lines and coordinate patient admissions and discharges; liaise with referral practices.
* Assist veterinary staff with emergency triage and patient handling.
* Maintain accurate records using veterinary software; process financial transactions and insurance claims.
* Ensure a clean, safe, and professional reception environment.
Qualifications
* Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to manage professional and operational relationships with stakeholders.
* Strong experience using Microsoft Office suite (Word, Outlook, Excel).
* Demonstrated organisational and time management skills.
* Use of Veterinary Practice management software (e.g., Cornerstone) is desirable.
* Experience providing client services in a veterinary practice or relevant discipline is desirable.
