Support Worker - Waking Nights Charity Jobs NI is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of Positive Futures for a Support Worker - Waking Nights role based in Bangor. Positive Futures is a leading Northern Ireland charity supporting people with a learning disability, acquired brain injury and autism to live the life they want. About Positive Futures Positive Futures supports children, young people and adults with a learning disability, acquired brain injury or autism, as well as their families, across Northern Ireland. Since 1995, the organisation has worked to help people participate fully in society, develop independence and realise their hopes and goals. The Role As a Waking Nights Support Worker, you will provide high-quality overnight support to help people live as independently as possible while feeling safe, comfortable and supported during the night. Working as part of a dedicated team, you will build positive professional relationships with the people you support and deliver person-centred support in line with each individual's needs, preferences and goals. The core purpose of the role is to provide high-quality support that enables people to live independently and have choice and control over all aspects of their lives. The role will involve maintaining a calm and secure environment overnight, carrying out relevant checks, responding appropriately to any support needs that arise during the shift, and offering reassurance and practical assistance where required. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records and reports, using ICT systems appropriately, and helping to ensure a smooth handover between night and day staff. Positive Futures has opportunities available ranging from full-time 36-hour contracts to part-time and bank/relief roles, and welcomes applications from candidates interested in a variety of working patterns. Location Bangor Salary £12.21 to £12.80 per hour What Positive Futures is Looking For This role would suit someone who is kind, patient and supportive, with a genuine interest in helping others. Applicants should be able to demonstrate personal or work experience of providing care or support for someone, along with basic digital skills to record notes and use rota, HR or care systems. Applicants will need to have reliable access to transport for this role.
