About the Role:
Prospero Teaching are looking for a dedicated and resilient SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a welcoming primary school in Southport. The school is committed to providing exceptional support for children with additional needs and requires a TA who can contribute to their inclusive and nurturing environment.
You will be working with pupils who have a range of Special Educational Needs, which may include Autism, ADHD, Speech and Language needs, or Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) requirements. The role involves both one-to-one and small group support, helping pupils engage in lessons, develop key skills, and build confidence.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide tailored support to pupils with SEND in a primary setting
2. Assist the class teacher with lesson delivery and differentiation
3. Implement individual education plans and behaviour strategies
4. Foster positive relationships and promote independence
5. Support emotional regulation and communication development
6. Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment
Essential Requirements:
7. Experience supporting children with SEND (school, nursery, or care settings)
8. A calm, patient and adaptable approach
9. Strong communication and teamwork skills
10. Relevant qualifications (desirable but not essential)
11. Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
