JD Group is committed to sourcing products in collaboration with strategic partners, long standing established suppliers who support private label growth and in return are treated ethically and competitively under our agile sourcing strategy. Working within the JD private label team at the head office in Bury, you will be part of a busy design and development office and interact with external departments and businesses across the Group. JD private labels are an integral part of the JD retail offering, and these labels are designed, developed, and manufactured in house, through our transparent supply chain, our teams on these labels are targeted with the growth of sustainability throughout the business. 1. Product & Supplier Management Arrange product tech packs and fabrics to facilitate cross‑costing sampling exercises. Attend Own Brand seasonal sourcing meetings and follow up on supplier feedback, performance, and source‑base gaps. Work independently and take initiative on supplier emails and queries. Co‑ordinate supplier visits/meetings with the development teams. Attend factory visits and report/follow up. Build relationships and maintain open dialogue with suppliers, ensuring they are supported with new and upcoming projects and that performance is communicated. 2. Compliance, Standards & Legislation Assist in the onboarding and set‑up of new suppliers/factories, including understanding the ethical code of conduct. Assist and consult the sourcing manager/senior leadership on upcoming legislation, geopolitical issues, and global developments that may affect sourcing, production, and suppliers. Stakeholder in the implementation of the Own Brand sustainability strategy. Understand QC AQL processes and assist QC in implementing them with suppliers. Understand global shipping and duty rate changes and challenges. 3. Reporting & Data Management Returns reporting — understand, analyse and discuss with Product Developers (PDs). Undertake external supplier performance reporting and internal Own Brand analysis, as well as any other performance reporting required. Support Own Brand global growth by providing detailed country profiles for new territories. Assist in conducting reporting for annual reports. 4. Digital Platforms & Innovation Work with third‑party partners to onboard and train new suppliers/facilities to the Digital Product Passport (DPP) transparency platform. Support in the implementation of the DPP (ATMA) platform across the supply base, including internal developments. Use Canva (or similar) to build presentations for the sourcing team and deliver presentations to the wider department when required. 5. Training, Mentoring & Stakeholder Support Attend, report and follow up on industry events. Be a direct support to the Own Brand Sourcing Manager. Support Sourcing Partners in delivering the departmental global strategy. Assist in wider department projects and work cross‑functionally to support the wider department. Be a stakeholder in specific Own Brand projects, taking on areas of responsibility relevant to the role.
