W&A is supporting a leading UK logistics business as they seek a Senior Financial Reporting Compliance Accountant for an initial six-month contract, with longer term potential thereafter. This role is based in West Edinburgh and is a hybrid role (three days in office). The position plays a key role in supporting the year-end statutory reporting cycle and driving integration project work following a recent major business acquisition. The Opportunity Working closely with the Corporate Reporting, Tax Treasury Manager for UKI, you'll take ownership of the statutory financial reporting process for the newly acquired business, ensuring full compliance with IFRS and UK tax regulations. Alongside delivering on year-end reporting requirements, you'll contribute to project work supporting the integration into the wider group - helping shape financial processes and governance as the combined business continues to grow. Key Responsibilities Lead the preparation of annual statutory financial statements under IFRS for the acquired business. Manage end-to-end audit activities, liaising with internal and external auditors to ensure timely completion. Oversee tax compliance processes, including preparation and submission of corporate tax returns. Support integration and transition workstreams, aligning accounting and reporting practices with group standards. Prepare technical accounting papers and advise on complex IFRS issues. Provide analytical insight and recommendations to support senior management decision-making. Identify and implement process improvements to strengthen financial controls and efficiency. What You'll Bring Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent). Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and UK tax compliance. Proven experience producing statutory accounts and managing audits. Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate financial information clearly. Advanced Excel and ERP systems experience. A proactive, adaptable mindset suited to project and integration environments. Package Details Salary circa £65,000 p.a.
