Consultant Medical Psychotherapist - CBP
To manage, appraise, and provide clinical supervision to junior medical staff as agreed with consultant colleagues and the medical director, in accordance with the Trust's policies and procedures. This may include assessing competencies under the Modernising Medical Careers framework.
To ensure that junior medical staff operate within the parameters of the New Deal and are compliant with the Working Time Directive.
To undertake administrative duties related to patient care, accurately record clinical activity, and submit reports promptly to the Information Department.
To participate in service and business planning for the locality and the wider mental health service as appropriate.
To engage in annual appraisals for consultants and participate in the Trust's academic programmes, including lectures and seminars as part of the CPD activities.
To maintain professional registration with the General Medical Council, obtain Mental Health Act Section 12(2) approval if relevant, and adhere to professional codes of conduct.
To participate in annual job plan reviews with the clinical manager, ensuring the role adapts to changes in service delivery and modernisation efforts.
To collaborate with local managers and colleagues to ensure efficient service operation and contribute to management activities.
To comply with Trust policies, procedures, standing orders, and financial instructions, actively participating in financial management and service planning.
To provide high-quality, evidence-based senior medical care in acute and locked rehabilitation settings, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver person-centred care and foster therapeutic relationships with patients and carers.
