Rates:
* PAYE: £267.42 per day
* Umbrella/Ltd: £357.85 per day

The Opportunity
We are recruiting an experienced Estates Management Surveyor to support a busy Strategic Assets team within a local authority environment.
This interim assignment will focus initially on clearing a backlog of rent reviews and lease renewals, alongside broader landlord and tenant estates management responsibilities across a large and diverse public sector portfolio.
This is a high-profile role requiring strong professional judgement, commercial awareness, and the ability to manage competing priorities within a complex stakeholder environment.
The Portfolio
The estate includes approximately 800 assets, including:
* Offices and operational buildings
* Schools, leisure centres and libraries
* Care homes and family centres
* Heritage assets and community facilities
* Commercial investments including industrial units, leases, restaurants and tourism concessions
The portfolio combines operational, community and commercial assets, requiring broad General Practice expertise.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage a caseload of landlord and tenant matters including rent reviews and lease renewals
* Provide professional property management advice across the commercial estate
* Oversee rental income and service charge processes
* Negotiate with tenants on assignments, subletting and lease matters
* Support acquisitions, disposals and regeneration-related property matters
* Maintain accurate property records and databases
* Liaise with legal services and other internal departments on property transactions
* Support delivery of strategic asset management objectives
* Assist in providing valuation and market-based advice
* Ensure compliance with professional standards and statutory obligations
Essential Experience
* Proven estates/property management experience within a public or commercial portfolio
* Strong landlord and tenant expertise, including lease renewals and rent reviews
* Experience negotiating with tenants and resolving property-related issues
* Ability to manage rental income and service charge processes
* Strong understanding of relevant legislation and regulatory requirements
* Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
* Strong ICT capability including Microsoft Office
Desirable
* RICS qualification (or working towards)
* Experience within a local authority or public sector estate
* Experience providing valuation advice and market analysis
* Knowledge of property databases and asset management systems
Working Arrangements
* Agile working environment
* Island-based candidates preferred, though remote working is supported
* Attendance on the Island required as operationally necessary
* Initial 16-week contract with potential for extension
