Overview

Teaching Assistant with a medical background essential. Location: Spilsby (PE23). Pay: 105-118 per day. Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term. Hours: Monday to Friday. This is a rewarding opportunity to support students with complex needs in a nurturing and highly specialised educational environment.

About the School

The school also delivers specialist interventions such as Colourful Semantics, Lego Therapy, Thera Lego, Intensive Interaction, Rebound Therapy and Bucket Time, helping students develop communication, social and learning skills.

The Role

You will work closely with teaching staff, therapists and healthcare professionals to support students with complex medical and communication needs, ensuring they can access learning safely and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Support students with complex medical and communication needs in accessing learning.
• Collaborate with teaching staff, therapists and healthcare professionals.
• Ensure safeguarding and wellbeing of students in line with school policies.

Essential Requirements

• Candidates must have experience and/or training in:
  • Tracheostomy Care - both theory and practical experience
  • Moving and Handling - both theory and practical training
  • Jejunostomy Feeding Pump Management
  • Gastrostomy (PEG/Button) Care and Feeding
  • Vagus Nerve Stimulator (VNS) Awareness and Support

• Is confident supporting students with complex medical needs
