Job Title: Family Housing Management Officer
Location: Luton (Actual location hidden due to confidentiality)
Salary: £24,500
Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 10:00 - 18:00 with flexibility as needed
Please note, due to the nature of the service, it is an occupational requirement that the post holder is female. The post is therefore exempt from the provisions of the Equality Act 2010 under Schedule 9, Part 1, Paragraph 1.
About the role
As a Family Housing Management Officer, you will work within a women's accommodation service supporting homeless families in Luton. The service includes 7 units supporting:
* Expectant mothers
* Mothers with up to two children under 10
* Single women aiming for guardianship of their children
You will provide person-centered support to help families break the cycle of homelessness, promoting long-term independence. Your duties include offering interventions and guidance on resettlement, independent living, domestic violence, offending, mental health, substance use, parenting, and safety.
The support is flexible and tailored, delivered through sessions, projects, signposting, and wellbeing activities. You may also assist with custody, mediation, supervised contact, and creating safe spaces for families. Support may extend to our male residential service, including lone working.
About you
We seek someone passionate about supporting women facing personal challenges affecting family life. You should be empathetic, motivating, and able to build trusting relationships. Creativity in fostering community through events and activities is valued.
Essential skills and experience include:
* Empathy and compassion for residents
* Motivating and empowering others
* IT proficiency with CRM and Microsoft Office
* Experience with complex needs, mental health, co-produced support plans, key working, and understanding housing and social needs
