About the role of an SEN Teaching Assistant:
* As a Teaching Assistant you will be required to support year 10 students prepare for their GCSE’s (English, Maths and Science)
* Support a small group of 6-7 students on both a 1:1 and group basis
* Work closely with teaching staff to support learning and behaviour management
* Provide consistent emotional and academic support to students with a range of SEN needs, including SEMH
* Build strong, professional relationships with students, encouraging engagement and resilience
Requirements for a SEN Teaching Assistant:
* Experience working in a secondary school or PRU setting is essential
* Confident managing challenging behaviours and de-escalating situations calmly
* Able to build trust and maintain firm boundaries with young people
* Any construction background is a bonus
* As an SEN Teaching Assistant you are required to take initiative, be resilience and most importantly be consistent
