About the Opportunity This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic Graduate to join our high-performing Professional and Financial Risks team in our Sydney office. Ideally, you will bring insurance experience as a paralegal or graduate, with a strong interest in insurance litigation. This is a unique role which offers exposure to complex financial lines and professional indemnity matters and a diverse range of disputes; including professional negligence, misleading or deceptive conduct, minority shareholder oppression, and advising on insurance coverage issues. This role includes the handling of professional indemnity claims on behalf of insurance brokers, financial planners and accountants (among other professionals) and providing advice on insurance coverage issues such as aggregation, non-disclosure and notification. This role will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to receive mentoring from Senior Lawyers and the wider team which boasts a collegiate, innovative and collaborative culture. It is the perfect environment for you to develop your strategic-advice work and practice management skills, while gaining exposure to large scale, high value, and/or multi-party disputes. About you To be considered for this opportunity, you will have: Completed a recognised undergraduate or post-graduate degree in law in Australia within the last 2 years, and have completed or be willing to complete your Practical Legal Training (PLT) A genuine interest in insurance and professional indemnity Excellent communication and organisational skills Capacity to problem solve and think laterally Firmly established time management skills and ability to manage competing priorities effectively A sharp eye for detail and strong writing skills Ability to work collaboratively with a strong sense of initiative and autonomy A great work ethic and be keen to learn and develop your career Skills & Abilities Honest, forthright and a self-starter Team player and seeks to build relationships with peers and team members Positive and helpful manner Active listener and receptive to feedback Ability to deal effectively with a broad range of people at all levels in business Innovative and alert to opportunities for continuous improvement and learning Why join us?
