Teaching Assistant - Phonics Intervention Lead
Salary Band 3 (£15,900-£16,160) – Band 4 (£16,160--£16,976) negotiable according to experience and/or specialism.
27.5 hours per week Term Time only (negotiable)
We are seeking to appoint a compassionate and committed teaching assistant to lead and deliver the school's phonics teaching that enables them to make accelerated progress in reading.
The post holder will be responsible for delivering the school's phonics scheme with fidelity, conducting diagnostic and termly assessments, organising and managing matched reading books, and reporting pupil progress to teachers and leaders.
In addition, the role includes working as a Teaching Assistant to enhance pupils' access to learning through high-quality interactions by supplementing and enhancing the work of the teacher across a wide range of activities and supported learning experiences. The post holder will promote pupils' physical and mental wellbeing in line with the school ethos, policies and agreed plans, and contribute to the effective organisation of the school through administrative and clerical support. quality interactions by supplementing and enhancing the work of the teacher across a wide range of activities and supported learning experiences. The successful candidate must be qualified to GCSE grade C or above in English and Maths. Previous experience in working with children in Early Years, KS1 or KS2 setting would be desirable.
