Key Responsibilities
1. Take responsibility for your own food counter, ensuring the highest presentation and hygiene standards at all times.
2. Manage stock levels to ensure popular products are available when needed.
3. Work carefully with open food, following all health & safety protocols, and help reduce food wastage.
4. Maintain knowledge of new products and understand Waitrose's food values (e.g., animal welfare).
5. Support the wider shop team with general shopkeeping tasks as required.
Essential Skills/Experience
* Effective communication skills to work well as part of a team and with customers.
Desirable Skills/Experience
* Experience in a customer-facing role.
* Experience in catering or hospitality environments.
* Interest and knowledge of current food and drink trends.
* Flexible approach to support the entire branch.
As a Partner on our service counters, you'll have the opportunity to demonstrate your food knowledge and passion while promoting ethically sourced products and recommending recipes. Your enthusiasm and friendliness will help build lasting customer relationships, enhance the Waitrose brand image, and encourage customer loyalty. Your efforts will also contribute to sales and profit maximization.
Working hours: 22.5 hours per week over 3 days, including early starts, late finishes, and weekends.
