The role
We are recruiting for a Bank Sheltered Housing Scheme Assistant to work at our beautiful 13-acre retirement community to provide a professional and supportive in-person service to our residents. This is a varied role working a daytime shift pattern and involves regularly interacting with our residents; conducting welfare checks; responding in line with procedures to emergencies such as accidents or fire alarms; walking the site; identifying and reporting or responding appropriately to health and safety issues; and ensuring that basic administrative records are kept, and occasionally there will be bank shifts available in our small on-site shop.
The person
Whilst it may be advantageous, you do not need to have previous experience for this role. You might come from a transferrable background for example having worked with vulnerable people in a caring or volunteer role; or have worked previously in a health or care service. Or you may have lived experience and have a genuine passion for working with older people. What is important to us is that you have great communication skill and a professional approach; that you can work independently and build relationships with a team; and that you have some experience of following procedures and keeping records.
