About Qair:

Qair is a leading force in the European renewable energy industry, with one of the largest portfolios of renewable energy projects in the UK. We are committed to investing in sustainable energy solutions that benefit the planet and its future. We are seeking an experienced Grid Compliance Manager to join our growing UK team in our Liverpool office.

About the role:

The Grid Compliance Manager ensures that all renewable energy assets – operational and in development – comply with applicable grid codes, regulatory standards, and connection requirements. This role serves as the key liaison between the company, transmission system operators (TSOs), distribution network operators (DNOs), and regulatory bodies. The Grid Compliance Manager will develop, implement, and oversee processes to maintain grid connection compliance, optimise grid performance, and support the integration of new technologies into the power system.

Key Responsibilities:

* Manage project processes for EHV, HV, and LV projects, including design, construction, commissioning, and transition to operational assets.
* Oversee the grid compliance process, including Grid Code and G99 requirements, working directly with operators (NESO, DNOs, IDNOs) for milestone achievement (EON, ION, FON).
* Drive system studies (load flow, short-circuit, stability) to the required detail for compliance submissions and facilitate technical acceptance.
* Maintain quality, best practices, and health & safety standards across grid compliance activities.
* Develop and maintain compliance plans, coordinate stakeholder interfaces, and manage technical studies often with external partners or consultants.
* Provide expert guidance on regulatory obligations, support regulatory submissions, and represent the organization in relevant industry forums and policy consultations.
* Track regulatory developments and update compliance records in line with evolving grid codes and industry standards.

Required skills & qualifications:

* Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, power systems, or a related field.
* Experience in grid compliance, power systems engineering, or grid integration in the energy sector.
* Strong understanding of transmission and distribution system operations, grid codes, and renewable interconnection standards (e.g., PSCAD, DIgSILENT, PowerFactory)
* Proven track record managing compliance for renewable energy assets (solar, wind, battery energy storage systems)

Desirable:

* Master’s degree or chartered engineer status.
* Experience liaising with TSOs/DNOs or regulators.
* Familiarity with energy markets, ancillary services and flexibility mechanisms.
* Knowledge of cybersecurity, SCADA integration and grid communication protocols.

What we offer:

* Competitive salary.
* Opportunity to work exclusively on renewable energy infrastructure projects that directly support the UK’s net zero goals.
* Career development and training opportunities.
* A collaborative mission-driven work environment.
