Befriending and Social Contact Assistance
Support for Wellbeing of Older People and People with Disabilities
Summary
Could you help a blind veteran on a trip to the local shops or to attend an arts and leisure group?
Detailed Description
We are committed to supporting our blind veterans wherever they are. Our community outings offer our blind veterans a chance to socialise, meet others, and enjoy a day out. These outings provide crucial social interaction for veterans who cannot reach our centres and may feel isolated or lonely. As a volunteer, your role is to ensure the smooth running of these outings and enable all veterans to participate fully. This may involve helping veterans on and off transport, guiding them to help with orientation, or providing descriptions of surroundings and events they cannot see. We seek volunteers who are eager to get involved and willing to learn new skills.
