What's involved with this role: Interim Senior Legal Officer - Planning Reference no: Doncaster 0008 D52E / 1 Pay Rate: up to £39.72 per hour PAYE depending on experience 35 Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 16:00 This opening assignment is for 4-5 months City: DONCASTER Hybrid working Hours flexible. Under the direction of the Head of Litigation and Regulatory Services, to provide and manage legal support for the Council’s various agendas. Provide legal support and advice across the Council on matters relating to Town and Country Planning, and Highway related issues. Working on Planning s106 agreements/enforcement/general advice. Key Responsibilities: Take responsibility for the delivery of legal advice and support in the following legal specialisms; Town and Country Planning; Highway Law (including footpaths); and Compulsory Purchase. Provide high quality and timely legal advice to the Council, its officers and elected members. Legal advice will take the form of written or oral advice, conduct of proceedings, and drafting of documentation including section 106 agreements, enforcement notices, planning injunctions, reports and issuing court proceedings. The role also involves advocacy before any Court, Tribunal, Inquiry or internal Board/Panel. Deputise for the Head of Service, Principal Legal Officers and other Senior Legal Officers as appropriate. Prepare and present training programmes to members of the Legal team and other Council officers, partners and elected members to ensure they have relevant up to date legal knowledge to assist them in effectively undertaking their roles.
