Contract: Permanent
Hours: 37
Salary: HC10 £46,142- £50,269 per annum
Location: Plough Lane, Hereford
Closing Date: 04/06/2026

The Role

An exciting opportunity has opened up to shape and lead Family Group Decision Making (FGDM) as part of our Families First approach. This is a brand-new post, created to strengthen family-led practice across Children & Young People services and ensure that children, young people and their families are supported to identify safe, sustainable solutions—rooted in their own networks—wherever possible.

As Team Leader FGDM, you will provide visible operational and practice leadership to the FGDM team, modelling Families First values and ensuring high-quality, restorative, relational and strengths-based family decision-making is embedded across the system. You will oversee delivery, quality and development of FGDM practice, ensuring the voice of the child and family remains central in all activity.

In this role you will:

1. Lead the FGDM team day-to-day, maintaining oversight of workload, prioritisation and case progression, and responding to safeguarding concerns or operational pressures as they emerge.
2. Provide practice advice, guidance and decision-making support, promoting timely, strengths-based, family-led planning and removing barriers with teams and partners.
3. Deliver reflective supervision and support staff wellbeing, case progression, risk and safety planning, and practice quality.
4. Drive quality and improvement through monthly activity and QA reporting, using performance data to inform supervision and service development.
5. Produce quarterly service performance and impact reporting, contribute to thematic audits, support governance forums and inspection readiness, and ensure learning is implemented.
6. Contribute to annual self-evaluation and service review, policy and practice development, business planning and workforce development priorities.

Come and join us on our Restorative Journey of Improvement to gain the best for children and families in Herefordshire.
