About The Role
EKFB is a joint venture comprising Eiffage, Kier, Ferrovial Construction and BAM Nuttall. We are responsible for civil engineering works on the HS2 project and are looking for a Utilities Coordinator based in Buckingham.
Responsibilities
- Approve ‘Permit to works’ and review all plans for ground breaking activities in accordance with the Breaking Ground Activities and Utility Detection Standard.
- Support site teams to achieve compliant and safe delivery within the utilities sphere, ensuring adherence to EKFB’s Underground and Overhead Service guidelines.
- Provide site engineering duties, establish survey control, set out detailed works, liaise with the Survey team, and manage checks on a regular basis.
- Assist the site management team in managing sections or subcontract packages, liaising with client representatives and designers on design issues and changes.
- Maintain accurate records of delivered material, ensure materials meet specifications, and conduct adequate checks on subcontractor materials.
- Carry out checks on subcontractor setting out and quality in accordance with the inspection and test plan, keeping records of all instruments, calibration documents and check registers.
- Record and report on excavations, reduced dig, concrete pours, reinforcement, and other critical activities; provide as‑built drawings to the commercial team.
- Draft method statements, task briefings, and inspection and test plans.
- Maintain safety for self and others, comply with EKFB BMS policy and procedures.
Key Skills and Qualifications
- Experience of setting out on civil engineering projects and managing daily activities.
- Experience with utility construction.
- Understanding of Overhead (GS6) and Underground (HSG47) procedures and constraints around multi‑utilities.
- Knowledge of statutory undertakers safety and control procedures.
- Understanding of GIS.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Cable avoidance training.
- IOSH Avoiding Danger from Underground Services, EUSR or NVQ equivalent.
- Valid CSCS card.
- Valid UK driver’s licence and access to own vehicle.
Pre‑employment Checks
We will undertake the relevant and standard employment checks if you are successful in the selection process. This includes reference checks, ID and driving licence verification, and confirmation of the right to work in the UK. Some roles may also be subject to further checks. A baseline personnel security standard (BPSS) security clearance will be required and undertaken as part of the onboarding process.
