Key Responsibilities: Design tooling, jigs, and fixtures in support of marine vessel production, ensuring compliance with engineering and safety standards. Utilize FORAN CAD/CAM tools to create accurate 3D models and 2D drawings. Work closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to develop cost-effective tooling solutions. Participate in design reviews and modify tooling concepts based on feedback and testing. Ensure tooling designs support efficient manufacturing, ergonomics, and health & safety considerations. Conduct tolerance analysis and ensure integration with ship structures and outfitting components. Support the implementation of digital manufacturing processes using PLM tools. Maintain records, configuration control, and design documentation in accordance with BAE procedures. Essential Skills and Qualifications: Experience designing jigs and tooling in a shipbuilding or heavy engineering environment. ESSENTAIL Proficiency in FORAN CAD/CAM system (mandatory). Proficient in mechanical design principles, 3D modeling, and manufacturing drawings. Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as welding, fabrication, machining, and assembly. Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
