As we continue our ambitious growth trajectory, we are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of International Tax to join our senior leadership team. Role Overview This is a pivotal role responsible for leading the group’s international tax strategy, compliance, risk management, and advisory across all business units. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical tax expertise with commercial acumen and leadership skills to proactively support the group’s growth and ensure alignment with evolving global tax requirements. Key Responsibilities Strategic Tax Leadership Develop and implement a robust global tax strategy aligned with the group’s commercial and operational goals. Provide tax structuring advice for new projects, acquisitions, and cross-border transactions. Compliance & Governance Oversee global tax compliance across direct, indirect, and transfer pricing regimes. Ensure adherence to local and international tax laws, including BEPS, Pillar Two, and OECD guidelines. Maintain effective controls and documentation to support audits and risk management. Advisory & Business Partnering Act as a trusted advisor to the CFO, Board, and business unit leaders on tax implications of strategic decisions. Lead tax input on investment appraisals, financing arrangements, and corporate restructures. Team Management & Stakeholder Engagement Build and manage a small but high-performing tax team. Manage relationships with external advisors, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies. Reporting & Analytics Oversee tax reporting in consolidated group financial statements (IFRS). Monitor and report on tax risks, effective tax rates, and planning opportunities. Candidate Profile Professional Qualifications: ACA, CTA, or equivalent Experience: 10 years in international tax with a mix of Big 4 and in-house roles preferred Proven experience in complex multi-jurisdictional environments, ideally within sectors such as energy, real estate, or manufacturing Skills: Strong technical expertise in international and UK tax law Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills Ability to lead with both strategic vision and hands-on execution Location Requirement: Based in or able to commute to Oxford, with a minimum of three days per week in-office What We Offer Competitive salary package inclusive of discretionary incentives Opportunity to shape and lead the global tax agenda of a rapidly growing group A mission-driven company committed to innovation and sustainability
