About the Role
We are looking for reliable, tenacious and experienced Shift Engineers with a multi skilled maintenance background, having strong electrical/mechanical maintenance capability who have experience in high-volume, fast paced manufacturing environments. The role will involve working with a range of conveyors, crushing, grinding, milling, bagging and packing machinery as well as silos.
The role will be based at our new site in Louth, Lincolnshire but will involve a transfer programme from the existing site in Flixborourgh, North Lincolnshire therefore living within commutable distance of both sites would be preferable.
Reporting to the Manufacturing & Projects Manager, the role will carry out PPM’s and breakdown coverage to suit business demand, work with the team to refurbish assets, undertake projects, innovations and new process developments, undertake installation and remediation work, acts as maintenance engineer on shift to keep the plant going
Key Responsibilities
* Perform electrical and mechanical engineering tasks, including troubleshooting and maintenance.
* Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, and PLC issues.
* Support project managers in improvement initiatives and cost reduction programs.
* Assist in implementing and maintaining safe working practices, including Permit to Work, risk assessments, LOTO processes, and MOC procedures.
* Collaborate on asset modifications to improve efficiency.
* Contribute to the development and execution of corrective and preventive maintenance plans in SAP.
* Manage the specification, quotation, and procurement of parts and materials in line with the Plant Manager’s requirements.
* Provide flexibility and support to meet business demands.
* Work overtime as needed to cover absences and ensure operational continuity.
* Perform any other tasks necessary to support the effective operation and maintenance of the plant.
What We Are Looking For
Education & Technical Skills:
* Strong proficiency in English & Mathematics.
* Apprenticeship-trained HNC or equivalent mechanical/electrical qualification (Level 3 desirable, HND highly preferred).
Professional Experience:
* Health & Safety training and adherence to safety protocols.
* Proven experience in an engineering role, ideally within an industrial or FMCG manufacturing environment (e.g., food, chemical, mining/mineral processing, packaging).
* Open to change, proactive, and self-motivated.
* Positive attitude and enthusiastic approach.
* Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
* Flexible and adaptable to business needs.
