We are seeking an experienced clerk to provide a professional, efficient, helpful, and knowledgeable clerking service to the Governors of Mayfield School. The role includes liaising with the Chair of the Academy Committee, Governors, the Head teacher & SLT, the Trust Executive Team, and other stakeholders.
Main Responsibilities
1. Provide advice on governance, constitutional, and procedural matters.
2. Offer proactive and efficient administrative support.
3. Assist in preparing accurate minutes and support challenge discussions.
4. Ensure minutes are accurate and produced promptly.
5. Ensure the Governing Body is properly constituted and provided with appropriate legal information.
6. Manage the annual cycle of meetings, maintaining a Forward Plan of agenda items and an Action Tracker.
7. Have good knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Knowledge of virtual meeting platforms is beneficial.
8. Be highly motivated, able to use initiative, work independently, and as part of a team.
9. Be positive, well-organized, energetic, and have a good sense of humor.
10. Previous experience with an Academy Trust and/or School Board of Governors is advantageous.
