NHS Highland is embarking on an exciting new chapter following a comprehensive service redesign, and we are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our Corporate Governance Service as Deputy Head of Corporate Governance.
In this pivotal role, you will support the Head of Corporate Governance and lead the Corporate Administration team, contributing to the delivery of high quality governance across the organisation. You will work closely with the Board and Executive team, ensuring that Board and Committee meetings are conducted efficiently, accurately recorded, and that both Executive and Non‑Executive Directors receive the guidance and support they need.
Key Responsibilities
* Overseeing the management of Level 2 corporate risk registers.
* Supporting the development and implementation of the Board’s Performance Management System.
* Collaborating with corporate directorates and operational units to embed performance management across NHS Highland.
* Integrating diverse performance data into a unified framework of Key Performance Indicators aligned with strategic and operational goals, in partnership with the Head of Strategy and Planning.
Qualifications
* A degree or equivalent qualifications/experience.
* Strong communication skills, resilience, and the ability to engage effectively with colleagues at all levels.
* A passion for innovation, continuous organisational improvement, and team development.
* Previous experience in a Board Secretary or similar governance related role (desirable).
This is a unique opportunity to act as an autonomous advisor on corporate governance and risk for NHS Highland. The role demands advanced theoretical and practical expertise, with the ability to make informed decisions involving complex and multifaceted issues through analysis, interpretation, and evaluation of various options.
