An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Controls Engineer to join Edwards Abatement Solutions in Clevedon.

Mission
Reporting to a the Controls Engineering Manager, To employ best practice in the writing of control and visualization software for products developed by the Clevedon PC. The engineer is actively engaged in the improvement of software development processes and techniques.
Main Responsibilities
* Take responsibility for preperations of softwarre specifications
* Reeview specifications created by others
* Work safely following agreed test procedures & risk assessments
* Preperation of test documents & advise on appropirate test methodologies
* Contribute to software plans in overall project planning process, aticipating obstacles and delays
Experience & Skills
Qualifications/Education/Certifications:
* HND (or equivalent) or degree in a relevant technical discipline, preferably in controls or software discipline (Essential)
* Minimum of 5 years working in controls and software within relevant industries (Essential)
Skills
* PLC programming - ladder logic, structured text (Essential)
* HMI programming using VB.net or other high level languages (Essential)
* Compiling software (Essential)
* Communications protocols - Modbus, EdCentra XML (Essential)
* Creation of technical documentation (Essential)
* Administration of software configuration control tools, version numbering, release process and archiving (Essential)
Compliance
* Safety and design review methods, e.g. HAZOP, FMEA (Essential)
* Industry standards - e.g. SEMI S2, S8 (Desirable)
