Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 12 month secondment as a Nutritional Clinical Nurse Specialist to join a small nursing team delivering care to patients with nutritional needs.
This post would be suitable for registered nurses with a minimum of 3yrs post registration experience and experience working with patients who receive enteral and parental feeding.
You will need excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail even when working under pressure. You must also be proactive and motivated to learn this specialist field to high standard and deliver high-quality, safe, evidence based and compassionate patient care, with excellent organisational skills and be computer literate.
Main duties of the job
This post is to promote, enhance and work with the Nutrition Nurse Specialist team to deliver a specialist nursing service to patients and families within the University Hospital of North Midlands NHS Trust. This will involve the management and care of inpatients and outpatients who are receiving enteral or total parenteral nutrition (TPN) ensuring the safe delivery of care and treatment to this patient group.
This post supports patients with various complex medical needs and conditions therefore requires a candidate with passion and empathy who strives to deliver excellent patient care.
The post requires a person with excellent communication skills and works well with various professional multi-disciplinary teams.
