Peripatetic Finance Manager
South West and Midlands Cluster
The role
Ramsay Health Care UK is part of a global hospital operating group that is the 4th largest provider of private healthcare in the world. In the UK, we’re growing rapidly, with 30+ hospitals providing diagnostics and treatment for both private and NHS patients. The peripatetic role is to work with the Commercial Accountants in supporting local SLT members by covering where there are vacancies; or supporting new Finance Managers in role; or supporting Finance Managers where requested to do so by the Operations Directors.
The Peripatetic Finance Manager partners with other departments in the analysis of their financial KPIs, challenging and offering guidance to support business growth plans, and also ensures a robust control environment through compliance with all policies and procedures. They additionally contribute ad-hoc analysis and insights as required for Cluster, Corporate, UK, or Global requirements.
In addition, the Peripatetic Finance Manager is to support the Commercial Accountants in their role, through involvement in site, Super Cluster or group wide projects and discrete tasks, as required. This may also involve carrying out audits of financial operations and devising action plans on behalf of the Commercial Accountant.
Where you’ll be based
This is a regional position covering the South West and Midlands Cluster. There are 13 sites in the cluster which cover a wide geographical area from as far north as Nottinghamshire down to Cornwall. You will be expected to cover sites in this region as required to support where there are vacancies and where additional support is needed.
What you’ll bring with you
1. Professional recognised accounting qualification and registration (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or QBE
2. Strong commercial understanding and experience with finance transactions and accounting, preparation of reports and budgets, assurance, and compliance.
3. Strong business acumen and business partnering experience, with the ability to analyse, interpret and utilise data to determine insightful observations that contribute to business improvements.
4. High standard of accuracy with financial and statistical data, and championing of data standards.
5. Experience building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
6. Strong decision making and influencing skills.
7. Experience successfully leading and motivating a diverse team
8. Sound computer skills using the MS Office Suite, especially Excel, with experience analysing large volumes of data to identify trends. Experience using SAP and Adaptive Planning (desirable), and comfortable learning new systems
