What you’ll be doing: Cartrefi Cymru provides a welcoming and supportive Day Service for older people in the Western Vale of Glamorgan who may be experiencing age-related frailty, chronic illness, disability, dementia, or social isolation. Based at Illtyd House in Llantwit Major, the service promotes independence, reduces social isolation, supports community connection, and provides valuable respite for families and carers. The service offers transport, freshly prepared meals, refreshments, and a variety of person-centred activities including music, games, arts and crafts, and social interaction, with plans to expand outdoor and community-based opportunities. Limited spaces are currently available Monday to Friday. In this role, you’ll support individuals to make their own choices, achieve personal goals, and maintain independence both within the service and the wider community. You’ll encourage participation in meaningful activities, help build confidence and life skills, and provide practical support tailored to individual needs — all while making everyday remarkable through positive and person-centred support. This role also includes responsibilities as a Bus Driver and Support Worker on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 8:00am–5:00pm. You’ll be required to safely drive the service minibus to transport the people we support to and from the Day Service and community activities, therefore a suitable driving licence is essential. No experience required as full training is provided.
