Road Safety Coordinator Job number: DWFRS - CORP00723 Contract type: Temporary/Fixed term Location: Dorset Department: Prevention Closing date: 29 June 2025 Job title: Road Safety Coordinator Grade: D Salary: Full time equivalent, £30,559 per annum, pro-rota, rising by annual increments to £32,115 Part time equivalent based on 18.5 hours per week, £15,279 per annum, rising by annual increments to £16,057 More information on salaries and progression can be found on our pay and policies page. Hours: Part Time, 18.5 hours per week, working flexibly over 3 days p/week Tuesday to Thursday Location: Hamworthy Fire Station and delivery in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole, with some requirement to travel across Dorset and Wiltshire The service encourages flexible working and is open to flexible working options. The role will be based at Hamworthy with the flexibility to work from home / DWFRS Stations / Support Offices and we would welcome a conversation with the successful candidate on what type of flexible working arrangement will work best for you. As a Road Safety Coordinator in our Prevention department you will: deliver service road safety educational programmes in schools, colleges and on MOD sites ensure the appropriate resources are available and our delivery is evaluated work with the Education Manager to support the development and continuous improvement of the road safety education programmes and associated resources and evaluation attend community events focusing on road safety education as directed by the service to support the road safety partnerships represent DWFRS at road safety partnership meetings What makes you our ideal Road Safety Coordinator? 4 GCSE passes, Grade A* to C / 9 to 4 including English and Mathematics / equivalent Level 2 qualification / or higher level qualification and a Level 3 NVQ or equivalent qualification experience of developing, organising, and delivering training or education knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding procedures and reporting systems experience of planning events and maintaining records For full details of the role and requirements please have a look at the job description and person specification. Other information: you must have a full current driving licence and be able to fulfil the significant travel requirements of the role. Use of your own vehicle will be required; however, a Service vehicle may be available. Please note Service vehicles are manual transmission only.
