FULFILMENT WAREHOUSE OPERATIONS MANAGER

PartridgesUK LTD, Eagle Avenue, Magnetic Park, Desborough, NN14 2WD

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM | Includes a 1-hour lunch break and 15-minute afternoon break

Salary : Starting salary: £43,000 p/a | Increasing to £45,000 p/a upon successful completion of the probation period

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Warehouse Manager to oversee all aspects of our Fulfilment Warehouse operations. This is a critical role that ensures the efficient, safe, and effective running of the warehouse, including the management of staff, inventory control, and the coordination of goods in and out.

This role demands a proactive leader with excellent interdepartmental communication skills and proven experience using a Warehouse Management System (WMS) to optimise operations.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership abilities, excellent organisational skills, safety compliance, smooth coordination with other departments and a clear focus on operational efficiency and continuous improvement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Warehouse Operations :

* Oversee daily warehouse activities, including inbound receiving, product storage, inventory control, order picking, packing, and outbound shipping
* Ensure the warehouse operates at peak efficiency, with customer satisfaction being the primary goal.
* Oversee the implementation of warehouse policies, protocols, and procedures.
* Maintain and improve layout and storage systems for optimal space and efficiency.
* Ensure timely and accurate processing of all goods in and out, arranging and booking in deliveries where required.
* Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as order accuracy, inventory turnover, and productivity.

People Management

* Lead, coach, and develop a team of warehouse staff including supervisors, team leaders, forklift operators, and pick / pack personnel.
* Conduct regular performance reviews and set goals for team members.
* Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, encouraging teamwork and accountability.
* Supervise, train, schedule, and motivate warehouse staff.
* Ensure all team members adhere to company policies and safety protocols, highlighting additional training requirements and conducting likewise.
* Lead by example to create a high-performance, team-oriented culture.

Interdepartmental Communication:

* Act as the primary liaison between the Warehouse and other departments including Directors, Managers, Team Leaders and Supervisors.
* Ensure accurate and timely communication regarding inventory availability, shipment status, and customer requirements.
* Participate in weekly cross-functional meetings to align warehouse operations with company-wide objectives.

Inventory Control

* Oversee accurate tracking, storage, and movement of inventory.
* Monitor stock levels, ensuring there are no stockouts or excess inventory.
* Implement best practices for inventory accuracy and control.

Safety & Compliance

* Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant working environment.
* Enforce health and safety standards and arrange regular inspections and risk assessments with in house Health and Safety Officer.

Process Optimisation

* Continuously assess and improve warehouse processes and workflows.
* Develop and implement operational policies and procedures.
* Leverage technology and systems to drive efficiency and reduce costs.

Equipment & Maintenance

* Oversee the maintenance and safe operation of all warehouse equipment and tools, highlighting service or repair needs when required.
* Schedule regular servicing and ensure all equipment is fit for purpose.

Requirements:

* Minimum 5 years of experience in warehouse operations with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
* Mandatory proven experience using a Warehouse Management System (WMS) for inventory tracking, order processing, and reporting.
* Thorough understanding of warehouse procedures and best practices.
* Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
* Solid understanding of logistics, supply chain operations, and inventory control principles.
* Health & Safety awareness and relevant compliance knowledge.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
