Purpose of Role: The primary purposes of the engineering administration apprentice are: to ensure that all engineering compliance records relating to Regulations and Codes of Practice are maintained to provide a robust auditable trail, to ensure that engineering maintenance and large scale defect repair activities are adequately planned and scheduled and to ensure that historical maintenance records are readily accessible. The role holder has no line management requirements, but carries significant responsibility for engineering Regulatory compliance through the operation and management of the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS). You will be required to work closely with the engineering leadership team and will often be expected to prioritise your own workload. You will attend / chair meetings as required to deliver the best possible support to engineering and its customers in all areas of the business. Key Areas: Maintaining the engineering asset register in CMMS and maintaining its associated maintenance and defect schedule Maintaining compliance records of Regulatory maintenance such as pressure systems, emergency lighting, PAT testing, electrical safety of buildings and facilities, LOLER / FLT / MEWP / passenger lift, weighing machine and metal detector calibrations, etc Building and maintaining the engineering department key document control register / syste Operating and managing the CMMS including scheduling and issuing work, drawing down engineering data on request for analysis and liaising with the engineers to ensure records are complete and up to date. Completing general document administration duties within the engineering department Completing general financial administration duties within the engineering department such as raising financial approvals, collating receipt notes and invoices, etc. Providing help to the engineering stores for orders in absence of the stores person(s) Any other reasonable request of line management Key Performance Indicators: Comply with SHE and all other Regulatory guidance applicable to engineering Ensure that all maintenance and defect activities are planned Ensure that all departmental KPI’s are issued, both periodically and on request Ensure that a robust auditable compliance documentation trail is kept within the department Skills: Attention to detail Good communication Team player Trust worthy Qualifications: This role requires no qualification as the individual will be working towards a SVQ(apprenticeship) in administration.
