Job Title: Senior Geospatial & Masterplanning Specialist

Our client is a distinguished, independent architectural, design, and planning practice with a century of expertise, consistently ranking among the UK's top architectural firms while maintaining a strong international presence. They are renowned for their cross-sector work in architecture, planning, and interiors, delivering complex, large-scale projects globally, including significant work in the Middle East.

Opportunity Overview:

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior GIS/CAD professional to play a pivotal role in the delivery of their ambitious, large-scale masterplanning projects. This is an excellent opportunity to join their growing, collaborative Masterplanning and Urban Design team and apply deep geospatial expertise to projects of regional and international significance.

The ideal candidate will possess 3-4 years of professional experience within urban planning, architecture, or landscape architecture environments, with a strong focus on the Middle East region.

Key Responsibilities:

The Senior Geospatial Specialist will drive the successful implementation of GIS and CAD workflows across all masterplanning phases. Key responsibilities include:
* Lead the GIS and CAD data workflows for masterplanning projects, guaranteeing the highest level of data accuracy and consistency.
* Develop and manage sophisticated spatial databases, maps, and high-quality visualisations to directly inform and support critical planning and design decisions.
* Coordinate and collaborate effectively with diverse, multidisciplinary internal and external teams, including urban designers, planners, and engineers.
* Translate conceptual designs into detailed, precise CAD drawings and comprehensive GIS datasets.
* Integrate advanced GIS spatial analysis techniques seamlessly into planning reports, technical documentation, and client presentations.
* Ensure all drawing and data standards are rigorously maintained and comply with all project-specific and regional requirements.
* Support complex site analysis, land use planning, and infrastructure mapping activities utilising advanced GIS tools.
* Liaise with our client and other stakeholders to thoroughly understand project requirements, scope, and deliverable specifications.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in Geography, Urban Planning, Architecture, or a closely related field.
* A minimum of 3-4 years of professional experience working directly on large-scale masterplanning projects.
* Proven expertise in project work within the Middle East (e.g., Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar).
* High proficiency in industry-standard GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
* Strong theoretical and practical understanding of spatial analysis, data management, and cartographic principles.
* A proven ability to successfully manage multiple tasks, competing priorities, and strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.
Preferred Skills:
* Experience with BIM integration and 3D modelling tools (e.g., Rhino, Revit).
* Familiarity with regional planning regulations, standards, and specific cultural contexts across the Middle East.
* Knowledge of scripting or automation tools (e.g., Python, ModelBuilder) is considered a strong advantage.
