Overview
The Chief Registrar role is a senior leadership development position for doctors across UK hospitals, established by the Royal College of Physicians. It provides protected time for senior resident doctors to develop leadership and quality‑improvement skills while continuing clinical work.
Chief Registrars work with hospital leadership to improve services, support education and training for junior doctors, enhance staff engagement and morale, and contribute to workforce planning and sustainable healthcare delivery.
The role requires a minimum of a 12‑month post and at least 40% dedicated non‑clinical time (two days a week) with 60% clinical time.
For NTN doctors, this can be an in‑programme or out‑of‑programme training experience as per the Chief Registrar job description.
It is a great time to join the Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as the Trust Chief Registrar.
The Trust is redeveloping a new state‑of‑the‑art hospital to support the best delivery of healthcare and to be fit for the future.
