The Opportunity As Audit Manager , you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality audit services to a diverse client portfolio. You will take ownership of engagements from planning through to completion, acting as a trusted advisor to clients while mentoring and developing junior colleagues. This role offers clear progression to Senior Manager and beyond , along with exposure to varied sectors and complex assignments. Key Responsibilities Lead and deliver audit assignments from planning to completion, ensuring compliance with UK auditing standards Act as the primary client contact , building and maintaining strong relationships Manage and develop junior staff , providing coaching, feedback, and technical guidance Prepare and manage audit budgets , monitoring performance and addressing variances Oversee billing and WIP management , ensuring profitability of engagements Ensure full compliance with FRS, IFRS, and regulatory requirements Collaborate with senior leadership to deliver efficient, high-quality client service Contribute to a positive team culture and support wider business objectives About You To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate: ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent) Minimum 4–7 years’ UK practice experience , including post-qualified experience (PQE) Strong background in audit and accounts within a professional practice environment Excellent working knowledge of UK GAAP, FRS 102, and IFRS Experience managing client relationships and leading engagements Proven ability to mentor and develop junior team members Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving skills Experience using CCH, Inflo or similar audit software (desirable but not essential) What’s on Offer Our client provides a comprehensive and competitive package, including: £50,000 – £65,000 salary (dependent on experience) Performance-related bonus scheme Hybrid working model (Liverpool office flexible home working) 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays Enhanced pension scheme Private medical insurance Life assurance cover Structured career progression pathway to Senior Manager level Ongoing professional development and training Wellbeing support initiatives Modern, collaborative working environment with a strong team culture Location & Working Arrangements Liverpool city centre office Hybrid working available (typically 2–3 days in the office) Flexible approach to working patterns where possible About Our Client Our client is a leading independent firm of Chartered Accountants and Business Advisors, known for delivering tailored financial guidance and strategic growth solutions.
